Welcome
Hello everyone and welcome to the Canadian Grand Prix Weekend thread.
Details about this race can be found here.
Sessions
This thread will cover all the sessions this weekend, so that’s all 3 practice sessions, qualifying, and the race.
We will monitor how this goes to see if we need more granularity.
Spoilers
The rules around spoilers are not yet in place, therefore we won’t be enforcing anything around spoilers this weekend. This goes beyond the scope of this thread too.
If you do not want spoilers, please do not look in this community this weekend.
The aim is to have a finished set of rules ready by mid next week.
This is gonna be epic or a red flag fest
Perez has bottled it.
Wow, can’t believe just a few races ago we were talking about whether this would be Perez year. And he is not even close to Verstappen.
So one-lap-shootout coming up.
Seems like lemmy.ml is having some trouble pushing out comments to other instances from this post 😬 Many comments here are missing on other instances
Might make sense to host these threads on a less overloaded instance?
Jepp I sadly have the same problem.
Sainz should get even more then a 3 grid penalty. This was not only impeading, but crazy dangerous.
The penalty is given for the infringement, not the outcome. Not that I disagree with you, but that is how the rules are applied.
Yeah sure. I honestly don’t expect anything else. But they should really add some additional penalties for this very dangerous maneuvers.
What a clusterfuck that was at the end.
Gasly got screwed.
Yeah so much. This was crazy by sainz
Amazing battle between Alonso and Hamilton!
What happened to TSU? He pitted after the first lap?
I look forward to McLaren raising my hopes, and then dashing them quite expertly.
Don’t know if you watched FP1, but they mentioned that Mikka Haekkinen apparently said that he expects McLaren to be the closest to …the fucking Red Bull. They also mentioned that Suspension and two other things I forgot are apparently fairly similar, they just haven’t extracted the potential.
Take it with a bag of salt I guess… ;)
I know that this post is for the full weekend. Could we still have a separate race discussion? I think this would make it a bit better to keep an overview.
There are a couple of reason why I’m going to say no to this now.
- I don’t want to change how we’re operating a race weekend during the race weekend.
- I’d like to see the experiment of one post per race weekend through.
If we get enough feedback asking for more granular threads then when will absolutely consider how we change things for future races.
Tomorrow there will be a post-race discussion. Perhaps in there you can make this point again?
Not OP, but fair points.
Let’s see how the discussion goes tomorrow. Enjoy the race!
