Just look at the different attitude towards talking to kids about sex that you find in the UK and on the Continent, even the Germanic countries tend to be a lot more open about this stuff than the UK.
It’s definitely not Anglo–Saxon as in “inherited from the Germanic tribes of Angles and Saxons”, afaik medieval and early modern English society was quite open about sex.
