What we call good and evil basically boils down to the eternal conflict between altruism and egoism. There is no solution to this conflict. If you’re too altruistic, you will be taken advantage of and your chances at reproduction will diminish. Likewise, if you’re too egoistic, it’ll lead to repercussions from the group that you depend on to survive and reproduce. We all try to find our way somewhere between these two poles and we have to negotiate our path through the pitfalls every day
