Exactly. I know a much of McDonald’s have self order kiosks. And if you live near a Wawa/Sheetz/royal farms (all USA chains) they use mobile order kiosks. The tech exists they just don’t want to use it for the drive thru for some reason. Drive up ATMs are all over the place so it’s not like it’s a foreign idea to use a touch screen from a car.
For a European that sounds so odd and uncomfortable. I gut that picture in my head of a person trying so hard to reach all the buttons on the ATM, hanging out of their car’s door awkwardly, yet unable to simply get out because they still have to push down the break, since the road isn’t even and the car would simply roll downhill.
And they finally made it! After lots of fumbeling and weird twister-like streches through the window of their opened car door they got their money! Just barely holding on to it between the tips of their index and middle finger, relieved this whole ridiculous excercise is about to be over, a gust of wind comes along and rips the money out of their grasp, carrying it down the road where it eventually lands in a puddle. A teen looks down at the puddle, then dead into the eyes of the driver. The world around them is going mute as they stare at each other. A single drop of sweat rolls down the drivers forehead. Without breaking eye contact the teen kneels down to pick up the 50 dollar bill.
The driver cries out in utter helplessness and disagreement: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I really hope drive up AMTs are much easier to use than I imagine. But please don’t take this away from me xDD
