Someone should probably jump in and explain what federation means.

Honestly I am of the mindset that the fewer people on Reddit the better, MAGAts included since we can always be defederate from their communities on the Fediverse anyway. But I also doubt they will ever leave centralized platforms since time and time again it’s been shown that their “ideology” (in as much as it exists) depends largely on having someone to provoke/convert that is forced to listen to them. Reddit makes a lot of money off of the “engagement” that they produce.

I don’t mind them staying on reddit, that site is a sinking ship so they can go down with it and leave sane people the fuck alone.

lol we are just chopped liver I guess.

Oh well, we can keep the party going over here. Statistics wise, we just keep getting bigger.

Getting bigger slowly is much better. Suddenly getting a massive wave of users that are not used to our features sounds awful.

LOL wow. Thats some misunderstanding. Theres millions now. And each service that gets put online only pulls in more and more users.

I wish more people would understand that mastodon can talk to lemmy can talk to piefed etc… etc… each service is another layer of people talking with other people. We all rise when one service does well.
