It seems to them politics is just about using every little loophole, anything they can feasibly influence that will grant them more influence further along. Instead of actual… you know, policy, for the country and its people?

Further, it seems anybody who is more interested in actual policy than playing the internal power game, is doomed to fail.

Make voting easy and all forms of financial lobbying illegal, boom, problem solved. Ah well, one can dream.
