Crusher/Riker were wrong for disrespecting/disregarding Klingon culture by refusing Worf’s right to die. Respecting that right would have also made the whole experimental spinal reconstruction surgery a non-issue from the start. Best case: the surgery is a success and Worf lives to fight another day in peak condition. Worst case: the surgery is a failure and Worf gets to die as he wanted.

I agree. They should have respected Worf’s wishes. And they must have known he would ask Alexander too.
