TLDR: went through a very rough time during my master thesis, decided to reward myself with a deck when I am done, finally graduated two days agoo and having the best time ever

When I started my master thesis two years agoo, the steam deck was basically just released and i really wanted one. However i told myself i would get it after finishing my master thesis. It turned out the topic was way to demanding to finish in the 6 months that are usually needed for a master thesis. It was a shitload of work, paired with very poor support from my supervisor, which really brought me to the edge of a depression. I thought that I would never graduate. It might sound stupid but the idea of finally getting me a deck when I am done kept me going. 4 months agoo, after finally dealing with the worst part of my thesis i saw an increadible deal on a used, but basically brand new oled 512gb for 380€ (uncluding 1tb sd card and a dock). I bought the deck but decided I did not want to play until my graduation so i locked it away at a friends place. Two days agoo, i finally graduated, I am now a MSc in Atmospheric Physics and yesterday i finally played my deck i was waiting on for two years.

For me, this device really representats all the struggles i went through and finally beeing able to play it and all the stress beeing suddenly gone feels so so great. Just wanted to share my little story :)
