Steam games will now need to fully disclose kernel-level anti-cheat on store pages
Developers will now need to clearly list the kernel-level anti-cheat used on Steam store pages. It’s not just for new games coming up for release, and it is also part of the release process now too. Valve will be doing checks on games to ensure the notices are there and correct. 🖋️

3. 📰 Popular Female Skyrim Modder Has Abandoned Her Work Due to Daily Harrassment (direct link) (👍657 👎37)

“It makes me sick”: Skyrim modder with 475,000 downloads, fed up with “daily harassment,” abandons modding after “thousands of hours” of work on what she calls “the most advanced follower to ever exist”
The latter is a by-product of the significant changes that Kukielle made to Daegon in the year after its release. Kukielle said that “Gore was right about this community. […] It takes and takes and takes and almost never gives.” GamesRadar+ spoke to Kukielle to ask about her decision. It swallows you whole and isolates you with terrible and few good people." In quitting, I have found my real passion, and have been obsessively working on music. Most Popular 🖊️

Apex Legends is taking away its support for the Steam Deck and Linux
Apex Legends is one of the only battle royale games that lets you play on a Steam Deck gaming handheld. Electronic Arts and Respawn are taking the game away for that very same reason. EA: “We’ve identified Linux OS as being a path for a variety of impactful exploits and cheats” 🖋️

Indiana Jones doesn’t “endorse” Nazis, Bethesda assure, just in case you were confused by him repeatedly murdering them
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle is a new video game from MachineGames. The game contains an explicit disclaimer that it is not Nazi propaganda. The disclaimer is designed to ensure compliance with Germany’s qualified lifting of prohibitions on depictions of Nazis in video games. It’s likely just the usual legal arse-covering, of course. But it does look a bit ridiculous. 🖋️

Pushing Buttons: Is there even any point in making more powerful games consoles?
But something as momentous as the leap from 2D to 3D gaming in the late 90s? It’s been a long time since anything like that happened. The visual detail of games like God of War: Ragnarök and Horizon Forbidden West is astounding. Is it time to leave that fight behind “Games have come to a dead end,” he told Japanese outlet Mainichi Interactive in 2004. Relaxing and minimalist, this is a good lunchtime play on Steam Deck I am genuinely sad to see it go, as I was with gamesTM a few years ago. Also, I hear the Guardian has a very good online games section – you should check it out some time 🖊️

The Brief History of Motion Sensor Aiming in Video Games
Let’s call this: “Motion Aiming” Shortly after, Nintendo released Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. until Nintendo decided to add a gyro sensor inside the controller You can jiggy the Sack-person’s booty via Motion Sensors In this mode, you can look around from Link’s perspective, and motion aiming is back. One is moving the body, the other is aiming where you’re shooting. But, Breath of the Wild is where most people got introduced to Motion Aiming In the process, “Motion Aiming” got a new name: “Gyro Aiming” (also, ‘Intu-Aiming’ was merged). Future KEX Engine games after DOOM 64 added Gyro Aiming support ever since But The Last of Us kinda works but Aim Assist is in use, and Gyro Aiming doesn’t like Aim Assist 🖊️
