The war isn’t a map-painter. Conquering dirt isn’t the point.

Ukraine has been attacking with roughly force parity and inflicting roughly the same amount of casualties they’re incurring.

Ukraine has been defending with roughly force parirty and inflicting 14 times the casualties they’re incurring.

Ukraine has been doing exactly what they have to do.

I don’t have any source for this, bit this sounds incredible good, having the same number of casualties when attacking a regular army that’s in a defensive position? Like how much better so you want it to be?

      Obviously war still sucks.

Ukraine is doing better than all pre-war expectations. This isn’t a game and war is often slow. We must continue to support Ukraine, as the alternative is to prove to the dictators of the world they just need to wait for a few years and the west will get bored of helping those they wish to conquer.

Exactly. This war needs to be a loss for Russia if we want to avoid future wars with other victims. So even if Ukraine and Russia both lose in the end that would still be a better outcome than if Russia can see itself or can be seen by nations with similar ambitions as anything resembling the winner.

Besides, every year we support Ukraine, the Russian economy and society suffers more for this dumb decision by the dictator they continue to support
