Man that one can play mp3 discs. That has to be newer than 2002. Burning CDs wasn’t super common yet.
Burning CDs had been common for at least a few years before this came out. The first iPod came out a year before this, so this version was already pretty much obsolete when it was released. Maybe that is why it looks to be in such good shape, an older one would’ve gotten more use.

If I bought one today, I’d spend the extra $10 for a rechargeable unit. The one bad memory I have of these was having to replace the batteries so frequently.
You can use rechargeable batteries in it… Built in rechargeable batteries suck. The entire lifespan of the device is tied to that battery. Give me something that runs on AAs any day.
Does anyone make batteries that aren’t shitty NiCd or NiMh? Basically Lion rechargeables?

Eneloops are still NiMH, but non-shitty (low self discharge).
I literally just burned a few MP3s on disc yesterday.
Of course they are obsolete by now, but in a museum…?
