Summary
A new WalletHub poll reveals that 74% of Americans believe Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs will worsen inflation, which remains a major concern for most households.
Trump’s plan includes significant tariffs—up to 60% on Chinese goods and 20% on other imports—to protect American jobs and address issues like fentanyl production and border security.
Experts warn these tariffs could increase consumer prices, with middle-income families potentially losing $2,500 annually.
Analysts caution Trump’s plans may face political hurdles in Congress despite his economic-focused campaign promises.
What American jobs is he protecting? We DON’T HAVE ANY manufacturing in the US to speak of anymore. At best we assemble stuff here that is made for n China. Except for car companies, what true industry is left?
The American car manufacturers moved their production to Mexico, meaning they’ll rise the prices on them due to the tariffs. And from what I read somewhere (and I can be completely wrong), the only car manufacturer that produces the car in America is one of the Japanese ones (
Hyundao, Toyota etc). Still funny to think that “Japanese” cars are made in America, and “American” cars are made in Mexico 😂Edit: i got no clue about cars
Tesla has two factories in the US.
Very true! Forgot about them (and I have a Tesla 🤣🤣🤣 obligatory fuck musk). I think my mind was on ICE cars only.
Right there with you. Mine is 5 years old with about 110k miles. Hopefully in 5 years there will be a compelling car that I like. But it could be an RV. I know a guy that electrifies RAM vans with Tesla battery, drive train, computer etc. No supercharging but can DCFC at EA, etc.
Hyundai is Korean.
Goes to show how much I know about cars 😂
You are not to blame, you are just a product of the american education system.
Lol. Born and raised in Norway, I just don’t have an interest for cars.
NAFTA. Or “the great big sucking sound” spoken of by H Ross Perot, the rich guy that owned EDS.
